In a world where countries and regions must cooperate to address urgent problems – climate change, conflict, food security, health and education – we help countries in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) build effective partnerships that will tackle these and other development challenges.Economic and political North-South relations are usually biased towards the most powerful. We therefore want to reduce the ‘asymmetries’ in policy making between the EU and ACP countries. By making the EU-ACP partnership more balanced and effective we stimulate developing countries to unleash their full potential. We provide support to key development processes in developing regions and countries in a long term perspective. By doing so we assist the ACP in strengthening their institutions and capacities to develop policies and strategies that shape their own futures and provide pathways out of poverty.
